Black and minority ethnic policy group Voice4Change England has published a report saying how policymakers can help BME voluntary organisations to tackle deprivation and inequality.

A Shared Vision for the Future identifies 10 key actions policymakers should take.  These include continuing to have distinct race equality strategies and equality impact assessments when considering policy changes, and strengthening the Compact as a tool to deliver fairness during the spending cuts.

The report, which is based on responses to questions from more than 100 organisations in the sector about the barriers the BME voluntary sector faces, was previewed at the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative party conferences this year.
