Joint briefing from a united Supporting People sector

In partnership with 13 other national organisations Homeless Link has produced a short briefing [485kB, PDF], outlining the virtues of Supported People funded services, and the approach needed by local authorities to prevent unsustainable or ill-judged cuts. This outlines key facts about Supporting People funding, and 4 questions local councils should ask when considering cuts.

This information was sent to all local authority leaders and Chief Executives of Supporting People administering authorities to help influence the decision-making where possible in these last few weeks before local budgets are finalised.

This is a useful checklist to cross-reference with as decisions are made and it can help to protect important, cost-effective Supporting People services in your area for the benefit of current and future populations.

Please feel free to use this document to support local services in campaigning, and in your discussions with local authorities.
