Financial Assistance Fund
Are you a voluntary or community group delivering health or social care?
Is your organisation at risk of closure due to funding cuts?
Paul Burstow, the Minister for Social Care, has created a one-off emergency fund to assist voluntary and community groups at risk of closure.
The Minister has asked the DoH Voluntary Sector Strategic Partners to help him signpost relevant organisations to the emergency fund. RAWM is a member of the Regional Voices Network which is one of the DoH Strategic Partners, and we are therefore highlighting the fund and its criteria to VCO’s working in health and social care in the West Midlands.
Specifically, your organisation must:
- Face in-year funding cuts that place you at risk of closure
- Have less than 6 months reserves
- Make a significant contribution to health and well-being
- Include the name of a referee from the statutory sector eg PCT or local authority
A total of £1 million is available nationwide, and there is an application process which opens Monday 20th December.
The closing date for applications to the emergency fund is midday, Wednesday 19th January 2011.
