Healthcare Bus visiting the West Midlands

Tue, 04/09/2012

The NHS Midlands and East Cluster of SHA’s together with Pfizer have organised a Healthcare Bus that will be travelling across the cluster in the first 3 weeks of September 2012. The bus will be visiting various locations across the West Midlands – please see below the link to a copy of the campaign poster which provides a breakdown of the locations.

The core objective of the bus tour is to provide the general public, especially those with a Long Term Condition with information about the local services available to them.

The bus will also introduce Personalised Care Planning’ which is designed to address the full needs of the individual by looking at their personal circumstances as well as their physical and mental health. They will be piloting an online PCP system which has been developed by NHS Local on their behalf.

Last year the bus visited various regions within the West Midlands this highlighted the need to have a GP on-board whenever possible, and also professionals that specialize in mental health or that are able to provide information on how to access local MH services – they are also hoping that the local wellbeing and smoking cessation teams will get involved.
