RAWM surveys VCS usage of social media

Tue, 07/01/2014

RAWM has received a small amount of funding from Improvement and Efficiency West Midlands to carry out some research. The research is to help the voluntary sector in the West Midlands to appreciate the wider digital and media landscape, understand how we are currently engaging with the digital and media landscape and how we might grow our engagement with a view to improving relationships and increasing communications between the voluntary and public sectors across the West Midlands.

The first part of the project is a survey about Social Media use in the Voluntary Sector in the West Midlands so we have written to every Council for Voluntary Service in the West Midlands to ask for their cooperation with this. Pauline Roche is the lead on this work and she has designed the survey using Survey Monkey.

At the end of the survey we are asking for the contact details of the person in each organisation who might be interested in taking part in further conversations about this topic.

We will publish findings on the RAWM website in due course which we hope will be of use to organisations in different ways including their own fund raising activities.

This project was inspired by a similar project around the public sector in the West Midlands – details here:
