Visit to St Paul's Community Development Trust
Discover the ins and outs of Community Asset Transfer - the experience of St. Paul's Community Development Trust
Seeing how others have done it is one of the most effective ways of learning. This show and tell visit will have a theme of Asset Transfer and visit St. Paul’s Community Development Trust, in Balsall Heath Birmingham, which from small beginnings has become the largest employer in the local area employing over 120 staff.
The Trust now provides service from “cradle to grave” including, a nursery and holiday care provision, a small city farm, family support services, a school for people with multiple needs, youth services, employment training and apprenticeships and a host of community activities.
Part of the Trust’s success has been its ability to gain local assets and transform them from dilapidated buildings to vibrant community and enterprise centres.
Come and hear how this has been achieved with advice on how to avoid the pitfalls and capitalise on the opportunities of Asset Transfer.
