Supporting Ourselves – ‘share, learn, do’ for small community groups in Birmingham

Saturday 11th June 10.30am - 4pm

This is for small community groups to come together, share their experience and expertise, identify what’s needed in the city for them to develop and plan steps needed for that to happen.

 Draft Timetable:

10.30 - Registration & drinks
10.45 - Overview/Introduction
The morning session will be for groups to meet each other, swap details and experience.
We’ll then identify the kinds of issues we all face in doing our volunteering/work. This will come from the participants, but may well include funding & finance, using social media, recruiting and sustaining volunteers.
1pm Lunch will be provided.
1.45pm The afternoon will be about identifying solutions to the issues we jointly face and planning how to deal with them. We’re likely to make a number of plans and set dates for future meetings to make sure they happen.
3.45pm - What next? Summary and close.
The event is aimed at groups in Birmingham with fewer than 1 full-time equivalent members of staff and volunteer led/ where 99% of the work is done by volunteers.
