Midlands Learn and Share Event - Volunteering in Care Homes
Best practice in recruiting and selecting volunteers in care homes
The new regulatory framework for care homes highlights the importance of protecting residents from the risks of social isolation and loneliness. But how can care home staff enable residents to maintain their interests and hobbies and to remain active citizens?
The Volunteering in Care Homes project is working with care homes, volunteer centres and local communities to identify and recruit volunteers to roles with that purpose.
This free event shares the current findings on recruiting volunteers for care homes and identifies the good practice that underpins successful volunteer recruitment and selection in care homes.
The guest speaker is Pat Wilson, Voluntary Services Manager, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust.
Who should attend?
Organisations that involve volunteers in the care home sector, adult social care commissioners, voluntary sector organisations with specialisms in older age and/or health and social care, volunteers, care home residents and their relatives.
