The regional events will bring together LINk representatives, LINk host organisations, voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and public sector agencies. They will provide an opportunity to hear how LINks have been developing their legacy and learn about positive relationships. Delegates will take part in discussions on what a good legacy will look like and explore how the legacy can be used to strengthen relationships.

We will be working with an external theatre agency in order to provide a creative and innovative mechanism for exploring some of these challenges and issues in a safe environment.

Why you should attend

Local Involvement Networks (LINks) are made up of individuals and community groups, such as faith groups and residents' associations, working together to improve health and social care services. The LINk Legacy is the term used to describe the processes, policies, activities, operational areas, along with the specific knowledge and skills used to deliver the LINk functions.

The overall objective of these five regional one-day events is to ensure that delegates have a better understanding of LINk Legacy. The events will use the four areas of the LINk Legacy to frame discussions, presentations, and workshops:

  • People
  • Previous work, research, reports
  • Processes and systems
  • Data\Information.

The morning sessions will provide each partner the opportunity to present and discuss their specific interest in having a robust and meaningful LINk Legacy. The theme for the morning will be 'What has been learned will not be lost'.

The afternoon session will be a participatory style workshop that will allow the LINk Legacy challenges to be played out and discussed, with new behaviours or ways of working identified.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Lorraine Denoris, Programme Director – Healthwatch Implementation, Local Government Association (LGA) /Department of Health (DH)
  • Speakers from the Department of Health, Care Quality Commission, Healthwatch England and Regional Voices.
