Investing in Neighbourhoods and Communities event
Organisations based in Birmingham South and Hall Green Districts are invited to an event at Stirchley Baths on Monday 27th March. The event is about bringing together organisations and individuals who have an interest in the role of the voluntary and community sector in neighbourhoods and communities. It will be providing the opportunity to hear about and learn from some of the great work taking place, to better connect the range of funding and support available to community organisations and groups, as well as to share experiences and ideas about what’s working and not working.

The event is aimed at:

  • Voluntary and community sector organisations and groups based in Birmingham South (Edgbaston, Northfield and Selly Oak Districts) and Hall Green District
  • Any organisation and group with a significant role or interest in providing investment, funding and support for voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors in the city

There will be various stakeholders:

  • A range of funders including the Big Lottery Fund, BBC Children In Need, Heart of England Community Foundation and others
  • Support organisations and networks such as Birmingham Community Matters, BVSC, Sported and others
  • Public sector representatives from the police, council, NHS, commissioning and the department of culture, media and sport
  • Community organisations and groups sharing their learning and experiences

The programme for the day is designed to be as interactive, interesting and fun as possible including the following:

  • Speed-networking with the opportunity to meet a whole range of cross-sector stakeholders
  • Presentations from local organisations and groups, with Q&A
  • Marketplace with stands and stalls
  • Workshops offering support about grants and a whole range of other support issues
