Health, housing and the impact on health inequalities - London event

Date:
Thu, 07/02/2013 - 09:30 - 14:00
Location:
London

The Race Equality Foundation, FaithAction and Regional Voices, in partnership with the Department of Health, are hosting a roundtable event, to discuss the impact of housing on health Inequalities.

The impact of housing in sustaining good health and overall well-being has increasingly been highlighted. However, studies have also shown that poor housing increases the risk of poor health outcomes and compounds health inequalities. This may be particularly so for black and minority ethnic communities, disabled and older people amongst others.

The aims of this event are:

  • to better understand the evidence on the relationships between health, housing and health inequalities;
  • to understand the existing work that is taking place in addressing health inequalities through improvements in housing; and
  • to discuss ways as to which the voluntary and community sector can get services commissioned.
